      Description

I am working with Groovy/Grails Tool Suite but assume STS does the same. During the installation step 7 of 8 I am asked where to install the shortcuts in Windows 7. I instructed it to install in "Application Development Tools\Springsource". The installation process completes and the tool seems to install correctly, however it does not create the shortcuts in the Windows start menu.

Additionally, when the installation process completes it opens a browser window to a page that does not exist for Groovy/Grails Tool Suite.

Was able to reproduce this, happens only for the Groovy-Grails Tool Suite (Windows shortcut creation works for the Spring Tool Suite). This is now fixed and should work again with STS 3.1.0.RC1 and beyond (unfortunately not STS 3.1.0.M1, which is already being built).

The missing welcome website after the installer finished will also be available shortly. Thanks for reporting both issues!!!

Is there a target date for when the production release of GGTS 3.1 will be released with this fix? I need to bundle the package to deploy to developer workstations in our company and need to schedule time for the package build.

STS/GGTS 3.1.0 release is scheduled for the week of Oct 8th 2012. Is that early enough or do you urgently need fixed 3.0.0 installers?

Are the 3.1.0 releases still on schedule to be released next week? Is there a specific date so that I can plan my work schedule around building a new package for the tool?

Hey Scott, yes 3.1.0 is on schedule to be released next week. The plan is to release the GA on Monday (Oct 8th), but that might vary by a few days
