Can I get some more details please? What bundle and what version of dm Server?
I don't know how it got in to this state but I have tried all of the following and nothing has worked.
How do you deploy? Using Drag'n'Drop or the 'Add and Remove Projects' dialog. Is the bundle that you try to deploy part of a PAR project which is open in STS?
I have fixed it, sort of. If I delete the server runtime configuration and then add it back. It does NOT fix the problem in the IDE but, if while doing this I try and re-add the bundle project to the server while in the wizard then it works but I still can't remove and re-add the project while in the IDE as normal.
Actually, it seems that drag and drop is broken but using the 'add projects' item by right clicking on the server does work.
Chris, drap'n'drop deployment only works if the bundle project is not part of a PAR project or the PAR project is closed in STS. This is 'by design' caused by a limitation of Eclipse WTP.
Let me know if you can deploy if you close the PAR project.
Closing this as it works as designed.
Sam and I worked on that a while back.
OK, then this is a usability issue.
1. The error msg should inform the user of this as even to me it seemed to be an error.
2. The 'Add Project' option from the drop down menu from right clicking on the server in the servers view should behave in a consistant way. ie not let me add the project if it is part of a par etc...
Thanks for the quick responce.
1. I need to check if that is possible as if I can fix this I would be also able to fix WTP's behavior
2. Why should it prevent deploying a bundle if it is part of par? that is going to cause a lot of problems as it is the only way to deploy a bundle which is also part of par
OK, well I guess the original bug is that drag and drop dosn't work. I see you point of view now. If it is possible to change the error message it could possibly point the user to the 'add projects' menu option as an alternative.
